🏆 Novices Shine Bright at Maritzburg Bowling Club 🏆
Maritzburg Bowling Club played host to the sectional rounds of the 2026 Natal Inland Bowling Association Men's and Women's Novice Singles Championships this past weekend.
A magnificent mid-winter's day provided the perfect backdrop as 51 eager Novices took to the greens, all determined to keep their championship dreams alive.
As is often the case in bowls, the tournament produced its fair share of surprises. Several fancied contenders fell by the wayside as the Novices showcased their talent, determination, and competitive spirit. The standard of bowls on display was exceptional, proving that the future of Natal Inland bowls is in very capable hands.
With sectional play now complete, attention turns to the playoff rounds, which will once again be hosted by Maritzburg Bowling Club next weekend. Spectators can expect more thrilling encounters and high-quality bowls as the remaining players battle for provincial glory.
Two Men's Round of 16 matches will be contested at 1:30pm on Saturday, 15 August, with the remainder of the tournament taking place on Sunday, 16 August.
We look forward to another fantastic weekend of competition as we crown the 2026 Natal Inland Men's and Women's Novice Singles Champions.

We would like to wish all our novice bowlers the very best for the competition. This is your opportunity to showcase your skills, test yourself against the district's emerging talent, and enjoy the experience of championship bowls.

🏆 KZN Pairs 2026 – Pietermaritzburg Awaits! 🏆 The Natal Inland Bowling Association is excited to be hosting the prestigious KZN Pairs Championships from 29–31 August 2026. A massive 180 teams from across KwaZulu-Natal will converge on Pietermaritzburg for what promises to be an outstanding weekend of top-class bowls, fierce competition, and great camaraderie. 📍 Headquarters: Lynwood Bowling Club Sectional play will be hosted on Saturday and Sunday, 29–30 August, at: • Lynwood Bowling Club - Pmb • Maritzburg Bowling Club • Maritzburg West Bowling Club • Pmb Collegians Bowls • Howick Bowling Club • Umgeni Waterfall Bowling Club • Wartburg Bowling Club The excitement will build towards the playoffs and finals, with Lynwood Bowling Club hosting the championship finals on Monday, 31 August. 🏆Lynwood Champs Do the Double🏆
Brad Robinson and Tara Van Rensburg of Lynwood Bowling Club - Pmb claimed the coveted Natal Inland Champion of Champions titles today, completing a memorable double for their club.
In two highly competitive finals, Bradley overcame the determined challenge of Keith Harcombe from Maritzburg Bowling Club, while Tara successfully held off a spirited performance from Karen Vahey of Collegians BC.
The finals brought to a close a magnificent weekend of top-class bowls, superbly hosted and sponsored by Pmb Collegians Bowls. Players and spectators alike were treated to outstanding competition and sportsmanship throughout the event.
A huge thank you to Collegians Bowling Club, its members, and all the players who volunteered their services over the weekend. Your efforts ensured another successful and memorable Natal Inland championship.
