🎉 Congratulations Bruce Krebser! 🎉
We are incredibly proud to announce that Bruce Krebser has been selected for the Yellow (PD/VI) Squad, who will attend a training camp in Hartenbos (EDB) from 19–22 April 2026.
This is a fantastic achievement and a true reflection of Bruce’s dedication, perseverance and skill. Well done, Bruce NIBA are proudly behind you! 💙💛
Understanding the B7 Classification: According to World Bowls / International Bowls for the Disabled (IBD), the B7 classification falls within the physical impairment categories for para-bowls athletes.
Officially, B7 is defined as: Ambulant or wheelchair bowlers who have minor balance problems due to a permanent and irreversible physical impairment. In classification testing, B7 bowlers demonstrate some balance impairment but are still able to bowl the full length of the rink.
This classification ensures fair competition by grouping athletes according to functional ability and balance. Bruce’s B7 classification reflects strong functional ability while competing within the para-bowls structure at an international standard.
Congratulations once again, Bruce. We wish you every success at the upcoming camp! 👏💙💛
🏆 NIBA District Fours Finals Day– Sunday 23 February 2026
📍 Kindly hosted by Maritzburg West Bowling Club
What a fantastic day of bowls!
It was an honour and a privilege for Brendan Ainley Maritzburg West team of Laylon Howard, Colin McDougall and Dustin Melanie Hargreaves to compete on home greens. With this being Colin’s final District game at West, there was certainly plenty on the line. The team gelled beautifully throughout the day, supporting one another every step of the way, and ultimately lifted the trophy after defeating a highly accomplished Lynwood Bowling Club - Pmb side of Brad Robinson, Jaco van Wyk, Sean Justin Lightfoot and Ivan Horner.
Congratulations to the runners-up, it was a tremendously entertaining final and a wonderful showcase of top-class bowls.
🌸 Ladies Final
The ladies final saw a thrilling contest between Pmb Collegians Bowls, BeLinda Nobin, Wilma Halvorsen, Karen Vahey and Tracey Shead and Lynwood Club, Jenny Smith, Rosalie Varty, Odette Randelhoff and Sharon Willey.
It was a cracking match, with tight, low-scoring ends and the lead changing hands regularly. In a nail-biting finish, the Collegians team clinched victory by just one shot.
Congratulations to both teams on a superb display of skill, composure and competitive spirit.
👏 Well done also to the other quarter and semi-finalists who produced an outstanding standard of bowls throughout the tournament.
Thank you again to Maritzburg West Bowling Club for their warm hospitality and for hosting a memorable District Fours.
