2026 KZN Singles – Finals Day
Westville Bowling Club hosted the Finals Day of the 2026 KZN Singles. A chilly start to the morning soon gave way to a stunning mid-winter's day, providing the perfect setting for some exceptional bowls.
Natal Inland Bowling Association had six players contesting the quarter-finals, with the unfortunate draw seeing Tara Janse van Rensburg and Zelda Siebert having to play each other for a place in the semi-finals. Tara prevailed to book her place in the last four.
Keith Harcombe fought tooth and nail in a thrilling quarter-final but was narrowly edged out 21–20.
Karen Vahey, Brad Robinson and Sean Lightfoot all won their quarter-final matches, keeping Natal Inland's hopes of podium finishes alive.
The semi-finals produced more outstanding bowls. Tara Janse van Rensburg's magnificent run came to an end in a heartbreaking 21–20 defeat, while Karen Vahey also narrowly missed out on a place in the final. Both ladies earned well-deserved Bronze Medals.
In the men's competition, Brad Robinson and Sean Lightfoot both won their semi-finals to set up an all-Lynwood Bowling Club final, guaranteeing Natal Inland both Gold and Silver.
Bradley Robinson produced an excellent performance to overcome a spirited Sean Lightfoot in the final and claim the 2026 KZN Men's Singles Championship, with Sean finishing as runner-up.
The Women's Singles title was won by Marian Knott of The Bell BC.
Natal Inland Bowling Association is incredibly proud of the performances of all six players who reached the Finals Day, and especially those who returned home with medals:

KZN Singles Finals Day – Westville Bowling Club
Natal Inland Bowling Association can be incredibly proud after an outstanding day's play at the KZN Singles Finals, with three men and three women battling their way into tomorrow's Quarter Finals.
The standard of bowls was exceptional, and our players showed tremendous determination under pressure.
In the men's section, Sean Lightfoot and Brad Robinson both had to dig deep, producing nerve-racking 21–20 victories to keep their title hopes alive. Keith Harcombe also displayed his class and composure, overcoming the ever-dangerous John Connelan to book his place in the last eight.
The ladies were equally impressive. Karen Vahey produced some of her finest bowls to defeat Michelle Gerber, while Tara Janse van Rensburg delivered a superb performance to overcome Linda Didlick. In an all-Natal Inland encounter, Zelda Siebert defeated fellow NIBA player Lisa Nagel to complete an outstanding showing for our district.
Congratulations to every player who qualified for the KZN Singles Playoffs. Reaching Finals Day is an achievement in itself, and the quality of bowls on display has been outstanding.

The curtain has come down on another outstanding Natal Inland Bowling Association Veterans Masters, hosted by Maritzburg Bowling Club.
Congratulations to all the players who took part in a competition that showcased bowls of the highest quality. Every section remained wide open until the completion of the final sectional games, demonstrating just how evenly matched and competitive this year's field was.
